Become a Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to enabling Butterflies Bereavement Support to help more people as they journey through bereavement and loneliness. We are a small charity, but we have helped hundreds of people in the last year, and need volunteers to help with increased demand on the current services we provide.
What can we offer you? Free tea, coffee, the occasional box of biscuits and the knowledge that you are a crucial part of a charity that makes a difference to peoples lives.
We are flexible - you can choose the days and times that you can support our work (although we are currently keen to find people available on Friday and Saturday mornings).
Once we have a completed application form and 2 references, we will invite you for an interview followed by an induction training process. We then provide on-going support.
If you are interested in our current available roles, please apply via the corresponding link. If you have any questions about volunteering, the process, or want more detail about the role, please email email@example.com
More and more people are being identified as lonely and isolated in our communities. Many are oldr people who struggle to leave home or have no local family or friends. We also have younger people who feel isolated, many with no local family, who need someone to chat with to motivate them and encourage them to move forward.
Buddies call a couple of clients each week for a general wellbeing chat and to encourage them to talk about their life, hobbies etc, and build a bond with them.
If you are interested in becoming a telephone buddy, please complete this form, and someone will be in contact.
As part of the admin team, you will support both services, but with an emphasis on the smooth and efficient running of the Friendship Service.
This will involve working with other members of the team to ensure that an accurate database is maintained and that the filing reflects the information held on line.
You will monitor all enquiries and undertake all necessary follow up activity be it with the referring organisation, the client, or the telephone buddy.
