Isle of Wight

Butterflies Bereavement Support is bringing to the Isle of Wight a clear new approach to bereavement care and support in the heart of the community.

Following on from the success of this community charity in Southampton, Romsey and Surrounding areas the Butterflies Project brings a wealth of experience from volunteers who have all experienced bereavement and loss themselves and are using their time, skills and talents to support families and individuals locally.

Our Isle of Wight Project will provide bereavement support groups into the heart of the community on the Cowes side of the island with scope to expand further if the need arises.

Initially these support areas include:

  • Bereavement Support Group once a fortnight

  • Advice and information for the bereaved

  • Online counselling and support services

  • Dementia and Loss

We are currently looking for volunteers to become Bereavement Buddies

Our bereavement buddies have the chance to become trained listeners and achieve Level 2 counselling skills and then further development and training opportunities. We also are looking for welcomer's, team leaders and people who can help with admin and fundraising.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer bereavement buddy, please email us for more information

Details of groups will appear here shortly. In the meantime, if you would like more information about Butterflies Isle of Wight please contact us
