Current Volunteer Vacancies
Due to the continued success of Butterflies, we are looking for additional volunteers to help with our services locally.
As we come out of lockdowns, more and more people are being identified as lonely and isolated in our communities. Many are older people who struggle to leave home or have no local family or friends. We also have younger people who feel isolated and need someone to chat with to motivate and encourage them to move forward – many have no family locally.
Our Befrienders call a couple of clients each week for a general wellbeing chat and to encourage them to talk about their life, hobbies, etc., and then build a bond with their new friend. Sometimes it's possible to meet for coffee and chat as restrictions allow.
If you are interested in becoming a befriender, please complete this form.
The Butterflies Centre in Eastleigh is the hub of the Butterflies work in the county and we are looking to increase our volunteers to help with administrative support and answer our phones. Training and support are provided.

Answering the phones
