Friendship Telephone Buddies
We are looking to recruit volunteers who can connect with lonely people who have no friends or regular contact with the outside world. Our Telephone Buddies will ring their allocated clients each week for 30 minutes and if any issues arise report them to our coordinator for action.
We are looking to increase our bereavement buddies across the County in response to growing demands on our services. Our Bereavement Buddies provide a listening ear to people who have been bereaved recently or over the years. Training Is provided and access to training courses.
Friendship Group Team Members
We are looking to recruit Volunteers to help with our bereavement and friendship groups that will re-start once the virus is better managed. The sessions last 90 minutes and provide time for tea and cake, social interaction and times for support. We are also incorporating social activities and guest speakers.
If there are any trained counsellors who feel able to give a couple of hours a month free of charge to Butterflies, please contact us. Also we are open to take some Level 5 Student placements for 50 hours if anyone is available.
We are in need of volunteers to help organise our admin support, initially from home and then from our community bereavement centre in Eastleigh. We need a team of people who can organise databases, input details so we can print on labels, design fact sheets, knowledge of social media and more. We are also looking for people with experience of writing grant applications. If you have any of these skills, please come and volunteer your time.
To run Butterflies Bereavement Support and Friendship Service costs around £30k a year and we have no government funding for our work across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We are looking for people with a flair for fundraising to come and support this very worthwhile project and help organise events to raise funds and also our profile.
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator for our Veterans Bereavement Support service. Must have experience of the Armed Forces Community and be able to work with ex-service people. We also operate a coffin drape loan service for veterans funerals and the ceremonial aspects and this will be part of the role.
